 Name: Lauren E-mail: floe_bgirl[at]hotmail.com Nominated Female: Honda Tohru Anime: Fruits Basket I think Tohru Honda is a strong female because she has lived in a tent without complaint, has always been cheerful and sunny even though both of her parents are dead, and she lost her tent in a landslide. Tohru is strong in other ways, too! In the anime, Tohru goes to see Akito Sohma, the head of the family. Even though Tohru is swung around a bit and yelled at, she doesn't regret going to meet Akito. In the manga and the anime, Kyo's master removes his Juzu beads and Tohru sees Kyo's true form. Tohru ran after him, telling him that she wanted to stay with him and that she wanted to accept him just the way he was, even though she was pale and shaky from her fear. Also, when Akito comes to the Sohma summer home and knocks out Momiji Sohma, Tohru, knowing she would get hurt, stands up for Momiji and guards him so he will not be hurt any further. When Akito talks to her about the family's future, Tohru knows what she has to do. She decides she wants to break the curse, whatever it takes, and she even sneaks to Kazuma's house. That's why Tohru Honda is a strong female!  |
