 Name: Neko E-mail: gprete[at]optonline.net Nominated Female: Haruno Sakura Anime: Naruto Haruno Sakura is a female shinobi of Konohakagure Villiage. She is on Team 7 along with Sasuke and Naruto. Together with her teammates, she goes on dangerous missions, but one of the most challenging tasks is the Chuunin selection exam. However, up until the second part of the exam, Sakura has always been safely on the sidelines, watching the backs of Sasuke and Naruto. It seems she has always been the one being protected by her friends and teammates. One evening during the exam, Sakura had to take care of Naruto and Sasuke. Naruto was out cold and Sasuke wasn't feeling well, so she thought this was the time to stop being protected and be the one who protects the people she cares about. The next morning, they were attacked by the Sound Ninja, but the boys were still asleep! Sakura wanted to protect them, but Rock Lee came in and started fighting them. Shortly afterwards, Lee was defeated and one if the Sound Ninja went to kill Sasuke while another kept Sakura from moving by grabbing onto her long, pink hair. It was during this time that she started crying and thinking to herself, "I'm just being a nuisance again. I've always been protected... This is vexing... I thought that I won't be one this time. I thought that it was my turn to protect my important people." Then, as the Sound Ninja approached the unconsious Sasuke, Sakura pulled out a Kunai knife... the ninja keeping her still told her something like that won't work, but Sakura had something else in mind. To escape from the ninja's grasp, Sakura took the knife, and cut off her precious hair! As her forehead protector fell to the ground, she thought, "I've always been acting like a grownup ninja. And I've always been saying that I love Sasuke-kun. And I always lectured Naruto like I was better than him. But all I've been doing was watching their backs. Still... They always fought to protect me." She turned to Rock Lee... "Lee-san, you said that you liked me, and fought with your life while protecting me. I think you taught me something." She thought about Naruto, Sasuke, and Lee. "I want to become like you three. Everyone... this time... please watch my back." And everyone did just that as Sakura started fighting all three of the ninja with everything she had.  |
